  • De Blasio Administration to Award Microgrants to Support Development of Workforce Training Programs for 21st Century In-Demand Jobs

    The de Blasio Administration today awarded microgrants to seven joint ventures that all specialize in workforce development who will research and plan innovative approaches the City can take to amplify training and hiring of underrepresented New Yorkers in tech and other in-demand sectors. The seven winning proposals are made up of best-in-class community-based organizations, training providers, higher education institutions, and research and consulting firms.

  • NYCEDC Opens Community Green Space in Willoughby Square

    New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC), Council member Stephen T. Levin, the Downtown Brooklyn Partnership, and Community Board 2 today celebrated the opening of new temporary open space at the future site of Willoughby Square. This temporary green space, which will provide 15,000 square feet for the local community, will be open until summer 2020. At that point, construction on the permanent 1.15-acre site is expected to begin.

  • NYCEDC and Xconomy: Future of New York Life Sciences Conference

    New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) and Xconomy, the leading digital media and events services company for technology and life sciences community, cohosted The Future of New York Life Sciences conference at Company, an innovative life sciences accelerator based in Midtown. Nearly 200 attendees convened to discuss and explore New York’s progress in the life sciences sector and how to overcome barriers to the industry’s growth in the five boroughs.

New York City Economic Development Corporation on behalf of The City of New York is requesting responses from parties wanting to purchase tidal wetland mitigation credits from the City’s first wetland mitigation bank, the Saw Mill Creek Pilot Wetland Mitigation Bank. The Saw Mill Creek Pilot Wetland Mitigation Bank is a mechanism that provides compensatory mitigation through the sale of Credits to applicants in the waterfront permitting process.
